EUSynBioS Joins SYNBEE Project as a New Partner
We are glad to announce that the European Synthetic Biology Society (EUSynBioS) is now a proud partner of the SYNBEE Project!
EUSynBioS, an association driven by researchers and synthetic biology enthusiasts from across Europe, aims to promote cutting-edge SynBio research and translate it into transformative technologies that can improve lives.
EUSynBioS places a strong emphasis on supporting early-career researchers, providing them with platforms to connect, share ideas, and make a significant impact in the field of synthetic biology.
Europe has established itself as a global leader in SynBio research, rivaling the United States and China in terms of research output. However, commercial success in the region has lagged behind, as highlighted in EUSynBioS’s recent review. EUSynBioS is committed to bridging this gap, supercharging SynBio entrepreneurship in Europe—a goal perfectly aligned with the SYNBEE Project.
As our new partner, EUSynBioS brings additional strength to the SYNBEE community, playing an important role in amplifying our initiatives. The collaboration between EUSynBioS and SYNBEE will enhance the impact of both organisations.
Here are some key collaborative efforts we want to focus on:
- SynBioBrewery: EUSynBioS is developing a competition platform that will bring together students and researchers across Europe to tackle global challenges using SynBio. Teams will work on ideas defined by industry and academia, with support from sponsors to bring winning solutions to life. This initiative aligns seamlessly with the SYNBEE plan, offering our community valuable training opportunities and access to expert-led virtual workshops.
- European SynBio Map: Europe’s diverse SynBio research landscape has been unified. In collaboration with EUSynBioS, we have recently launched a European SynBio Map, documenting research groups, associations, SMEs, startups, industry and investors across the continent. This map will serve as a vital resource for the entire SynBio community. Those willing to appear on the map, but not referenced yet, please reach out so we can add you.
- EUSynBioSeminars: EUSynBioS has hosted a series of seminars featuring diverse topics and speakers from various stages of their careers. The partnership with SYNBEE will help to further integrate different SynBio communities, making these seminars even more impactful.
- European SynBio Talent Database: To help SynBio startups find the right talent, EUSynBioS plans to launch a database where researchers and entrepreneurs can connect based on skills and career interests. This initiative will be instrumental in fostering the next generation of SynBio leaders.
- European SynBio Communication Platform: EUSynBioS will re-launch a public European SynBio Slack community in collaboration with SYNBEE and other associations, fostering networking and collaboration across the continent.
- Public Engagement: Engaging the public in SynBio is crucial for building trust and encouraging the adoption of new technologies. EUSynBioS is committed to educating and inspiring the European public through online content, panel discussions, and outreach initiatives. This will help to create a supportive environment for SynBio innovations.
The partnership between EUSynBioS and the SYNBEE Project marks a significant step forward in our shared mission to advance synthetic biology in Europe. Together, we will work to create an interconnected SynBio community that not only pushes the boundaries of research but also creates real-world solutions that benefit society.
