European SynBio Hackhaton Winners: Endostix
Overview:
The European SynBio Hackathon, hosted by the Biocatalyst Foundation, brought together innovators from various fields to develop solutions for global challenges in synthetic biology.
The event, titled “ReadWriteGrow,” featured collaborative sessions, expert-led presentations, and mentorship opportunities. Participants were welcomed into the Slack channel, where they introduced themselves, joined interest channels (e.g., Health + Wellbeing, Agrifood + Nutrition), and found teammates in matchmaking sessions.
The hackathon’s organizers provided all essential resources, including links to Zoom sessions, mentorship booking channels, and an FAQ section, ensuring participants could smoothly navigate the event.
This week e’re excited to feature Endostix, an ambitious and visionary team composed of Aleksandra Stojanović, Linh Tran, and Iulia Zbîrcea. This talented trio earned 2nd place at the European SynBio Hackathon, hosted by the Biocatalyst Foundation and funded by SYNBEE, taking home a well-earned €1,000 prize! 🏆
What is Endostix?
Endostix addresses a critical and often overlooked healthcare challenge: the early diagnosis of endometriosis. Using a modeling-based multi-omics approach, the team has created an innovative diagnostic tool that aims to revolutionize how this condition is detected. By integrating biological and computational data, their solution enables more precise, early-stage identification, helping patients access effective treatments sooner.
Hackathon Highlights
The European SynBio Hackathon brought together top innovators in synthetic biology, and Endostix stood out for their unique approach and dedication:
Favorite Part: Collaborating with fellow innovators and learning from world-class mentors.
Mission-Driven: A shared commitment to improving the diagnosis of Endometriosis.
Listen to Their Journey
We had the privilege of speaking with the Endostix team about their experiences, the challenges they faced during the hackathon, and their vision for the future. Their passion for advancing healthcare through synthetic biology is truly inspiring—don’t miss their interview!
